WELCOME TO THE 4-LINES COURSE
with Jim Bennett

a contemplative art practice for focused meditation and inner illumination

[ WELCOME VIDEO ]

I’m so glad you’re here.

This course is an invitation into a quieter way of seeing — a way of using art to soften the mind, steady the breath, and open a deeper conversation with yourself. It gently keeps the mind from drifting during meditation, offering a simple anchor for your attention. Beyond that, it can open a doorway into the deeper, intuitive layers of the subconscious — without ever feeling overwhelming. The method is simple and enjoyable, yet the experience it creates can be profoundly moving. It awakens a perceptual awareness that many of us haven’t felt in years.

  • You don’t need artistic skill.
  • You don’t need experience.
  • You only need curiosity and a willingness to slow down.

This is a practice for anyone who wants to reconnect with their inner clarity, creativity, and emotional ease.

Jim Bennett

Jim Bennett, BFA, MFA, is an award‑winning visual artist, educator, and author whose creative life began in the vibrant art world of the late 1960s and early ’70s. Having studied under Ray Prohaska and the Washington Color School painters, he gained early recognition for his geometric shaped‑canvas paintings and exhibiting at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

After completing his MFA, Jim stepped away from the gallery world and devoted four decades to teaching. During this time he explored calligraphy, illustration, portraiture, and mural work, created the innovative math‑and‑art program MathSquad.com, and authored several books including Calligraphy For Dummies.

Returning to painting after retiring in 2015, Jim’s work deepened through studies of ancient religious texts and Jungian psychology, leading to a new metaphysical direction that continues to shape his art. His exhibitions span the Hudson Valley and beyond, with numerous awards and fellowships recognizing his contributions.

Drawing on a lifetime of artistic exploration, in 2020 Jim created the 4‑Lines Drawing Method — a simple, intuitive practice that cultivates presence, emotional balance, and inner calm. His teaching is gentle, accessible, and rooted in the belief that creativity opens a path to self‑understanding and transformation.
